About Xaverians Space Research Group.
An academic community of students exploring the science of space.
Who we are.
Xaverians Space Research Group (XSRG) is a student-led research group for students of Xaviers. It exists to bring together curious minds to explore astronomy, astrophysics and the science of space through structured, documented research.
We are not a school management portal, a commercial aerospace company or a space agency. We are a community of students learning and researching together.
Our vision.
To nurture a culture of scientific curiosity and rigorous, student-led research in astronomy and space science.
Our mission.
To provide students with the foundations, mentorship and structure to ask good questions about the universe and pursue them responsibly.
How we work.
We distinguish clearly between hypotheses, observations and verified conclusions.
Honest claims.
We describe our work only as it exists and avoid overstating progress.
Documented.
Every activity is recorded, reviewed and made available for learning.
Open inquiry.
We welcome questions and treat uncertainty as a starting point, not a weakness.
What we aim to achieve.
Build foundational knowledge in astronomy and astrophysics.
Develop data analysis and scientific writing skills.
Encourage collaborative, peer-reviewed student research.
Create a durable archive of student research and learning.
A programme by xpacespace.
XSRG operates as a student research programme under the xpacespace organisation. xpacespace provides the overarching framework; XSRG retains its own identity and scope.
XSRG is one of several programmes under xpacespace, alongside other independent initiatives.
